How to Apply for Your Student Visa
Step 1: Apply to LIHE
Submit your application to LIHE. Upon receiving and formally accepting your Letter of Offer, you'll receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE).
Step 2: Apply for Your Visa
With your CoE, apply for the Student Visa (subclass 500) through the Department of Home Affairs website.
Step 3: Prepare Your Documents
Gather the documentation required for your visa application:
- Valid passport
- Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE)
- Letter of Offer from LIHE
- Additional documents per the Department of Home Affairs checklist
Step 4: Submit Proof of Visa to LIHE
Once your visa is approved, report to LIHE and submit proof of your visa approval.
International students
ESOS Compliance
Lead Institute of Higher Education (LIHE) is registered to deliver education to international students in Australia in accordance with the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000 and the National Code of Practice for Providers of Education and Training to Overseas Students 2018.
These national regulatory frameworks provide important standards and protections for international students and help ensure that education providers meet Australia's requirements for quality, integrity and student welfare.

LIHE is CRICOS-registered to deliver courses to international students.

Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC)
All student visa holders must maintain OSHC for their visa duration. You are responsible for arranging your own OSHC before enrolment.
Enrolment and Compliance
As a CRICOS provider, LIHE issues a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) linked to your visa, monitors attendance and academic progress under the National Code, and reports enrolment changes via PRISMS as required.
Non-compliance with attendance or progress requirements may be reported to the Department of Home Affairs and affect your visa status.
Privacy
Student data is reported to PRISMS as required under the ESOS Act, and handled in line with our Privacy Policy and the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth).
